LINA |

|
"Every Time I See You" (listen here) |
After drumming grannies and a surprise Top 10 result in last year's Eurovision debut, Moldova has a lot to live up to catch the imagination in a similar way in Athens. Step forward 16 year old Alina Chebotari otherwise known simply as Lina, who's personal motto is
apparently "Nothing Is Impossible". Lina who has more than a passing resemblance to American star Britney Spears, has been appearing in music festivals and winning awards since she was just ten years old. She has already built up a big following in Moldova and its neighbours, including Romania where she was educated and
Ukraine, where she was voted "Newcomer Of The Year" on local MTV in 2005. Lina tried to enter Moldova's Eurovision selection last year, but was excluded for not making the age limit, but this year she gets get chance. Lina's entry is a typical Europop dance song called "Every Time I See You" and it's certainly very
instant and catchy. Apparently early polls in Moldova suggest that Lina is the favourite to win the ticket to Athens at the country's final on February 25th. |

GEPPY |
"A Matter Of Time" (listen here) |
It's probably far too early to start tipping songs from the Bulgarian selection, as the semi-final is on February 25th and the final isn't until March 11th. Among the entries is "A Matter A Time", a song with a sound that could be straight from the latest
Robbie Williams album. This electronic rock track is the work of Geppy, otherwise known as Gospodin Gospodinov a multi-talented 36 year old musician and recording engineer, who has already won awards as a live performer. In the past Gospodinov has worked with top Bulgarian bands like D2 and Stain but recently he has chosen to work with
other musicians and that's when Geppy was born. Irrespective of how "A Matter Of Time" does in the Bulgarian selection, a preview video is in production. Certainly if Bulgarians are looking for a contemporary entry to represent them in Eurovision, this could be the song that goes to Athens.

ANA NIKOLIC |

|
"Romale Romali" (Gypsy Gypsies) (listen here) |
The Eurovision selection in Serbia & Montenegro is a more politically charged event than in most countries. With two national broadcasters vying to represent the federal state, the process for choosing the entry ran into some problems in 2005 with accusations
of foul play flying around the internet. Nevertheless both of the country's previous Eurovision entries have managed to make the Top 10 and whatever song is chosen on March 11th will compete in the final in Athens. At the moment both Serbian and Montenegrin television is previewing all 44 songs which are in competition in both
territories. One of the first previews was of glamour model and singer Ana Nikolic and her instantly catchy song "Romale Romali". If Ana is able to perform this song live, it would appear to have all the ingredients necessary to go to Athens. The song has a great hook and a similar ethnic feel to the 2005 Greek Eurovision
winner. It also helps that Ana is stunningly beautiful and could be a major contender in May, if she qualifies.
