Mistletoe Christmas
Walter De La Mere
Sitting under the mistletoe (Pale-green, fairy mistletoe), One last candle burning low, All the sleepy dancers gone, Just one candle burning on, Shadows lurking everywhere: Some one came, and kissed me there.
Tired I was; my head would go Nodding under the mistletoe (Pale-green, fairy
mistletoe), No footsteps came, no voice, but only, Just as I sat there, sleepy, lonely, Stooped in the still and shadowy air Lips unseen - and kissed me there.

"Mistletoe And Wine" by Cliff Richard
From teen idol back in the late 1950's, to elder musical statesman almost half a century later, Cliff Richard is one of the most successful artists in the history of the British music industry. Cliff Richard represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest on two occasions, coming second in 1968 with
"Congratulations" and fourth in 1973 with "Power To All Our Friends".
The are few former Eurovision performers who are as much associated with Christmas as is Cliff Richard. He has had a string of seasonal hits including "Daddy's Home" (#2 in 1981), "Saviour's Day" (#1 in 1990), "Millennium Pray" (#1 in 1999), "Santa's List" (#5 in 2003) and of
course "Mistletoe And Wine" which was the Christmas number one in 1988. This song is also included on Cliff's album of Christmas favourites.
